Fashion Career Week is a joint venture between The New York City Economic Development Corporation and Parsons The New School for Design. Interested students can sign up and attend in this workshop free of charge to explore career paths, network with industry professionals and hiring managers, and gain exposure to the working world. Many luxury brands attend and sponsor this event, including Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, and more.
While there were many events that students could sign up for, the number of seats for each event was limited. My challenge was to find an aesthetically appealing way to provide fashion students with the relevant information they needed to make an informed decision on the correct event to RSVP for, before it filled up.
To encourage students to read information about this event, I created a simplistic, visually-pleasing parallax website that listed each of the events on one page. In addition to this, I added a countdown clock at the end of the page to motivate students to register early. Lastly, I placed a calendar on the webpage so that site visitors had a visual understanding of days remaining until the event, and to create a sense of urgency.
