Los Angeles is known for many things: the glittering lights, star-studded neighborhoods, unique culture, and Rodeo Drive. The last place that people think of when visiting Los Angeles is Skid Row.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Skid Row is a 54-block area of downtown Los Angeles where poverty abounds, and homelessness is the status quo. This area is largely avoided by tourists and locals and is where you\u2019ll find many of LA\u2019s most destitute.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In June 2019, our team came together from across the country for our quarterly Leadership Team Meeting. HCIM is committed to giving back to the cities we visit and took this commitment a step further by going to the heart of Skid Row to serve those in need.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our leadership team went to the <\/span>Union Rescue Mission<\/span><\/a>, located in Skid Row to serve dinner to homeless men, women, and children. URM serves an average of 3,0000 warm, nutritious meals each day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The team volunteered in various capacities, including preparing food, serving meals, and cleaning. HCIM also made a charitable donation to help the organization continue the crucial work that they do for Los Angeles\u2019s most vulnerable population.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

URM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 1891. Today, they are one of the largest rescue missions in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles.
