Hyperpigmentierung ist ein h\u00e4ufiges kosmetisches Problem bei dunkler Haut. Die zugrunde liegende Ursache steht h\u00e4ufig im Zusammenhang mit Melasma oder PIH (postinflammatorische Hyperpigmentierung) aufgrund bestehender oder fr\u00fcherer Erkrankungen wie Akne oder Pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB). Die Beseitigung von Hyperpigmentierung bei dunkler Haut ist schwierig, da viele in der \u00e4sthetischen Medizin verwendete Modalit\u00e4ten solche Zust\u00e4nde verschlimmern, anstatt sie zu beseitigen. Studienteilnehmer der Fitzpatrick-Hauttypen V bis VI wurden in die Studie aufgenommen, um mit einem Nd:YAG-Laser mit einer Pulsdauer von 650\u00a0\u03bcs und einer Wellenl\u00e4nge von 1064\u00a0nm mit einem einzigen Handst\u00fcck (LightPod Neo, Aerolase, Tarrytown, NY) behandelt zu werden.
